My Experience of stuttering therapy courses I have attended

All online as well as offline stuttering therapy courses are convincing you for complete acceptance of what you are at the last stage of courses instead giving you a solution. This may surprise you but this is as true as we say "Sun rises in East". I have tried so many classes to overcome stuttering. In all courses, I would have been forced to “accept” my stuttering because, after all, I had no other choice. Everything else failed. Deep down, I know that “complete acceptance” would not have occurred because I really did not want to stutter.

I wanted to be able to talk like everyone else. I wanted to be promoted in my job and not overlooked due to my speech impediment, I wanted to go on interviews and be able to clearly communicate my accomplishments and strengths without being looked at an “unintelligent” or “nervous”, I wanted to successfully facilitate meetings on important topics so that people could depart with powerful takeaways, I wanted to be able to talk to my boss and explain reports without thinking about every word and being fearful of stuttering, I wanted to be able to talk to my colleagues without being anxious of being judged on my speech, I wanted my children to observe me talking to people and giving presentations so that I could indirectly impart confidence in them because…after all….they would be able to say, "if mommy can do it, I can too!", I wanted to be able to answer the phone, introduce myself and carry on a conversation worry-free of stuttering or being unable to say something, I wanted to be able to go on dates and have smooth dialogue, etc. (I can go on and on!)
